This concert by Celebration Brass Band will contain a cross section of audience-friendly music, including old “standards” (Another Opening, Another Show, Shenandoah, and selections from West Side Story and All That Jazz), plus pieces “brassies” (brass band fans!) will recognize but newbies to the brass band world may not. The soloist for the evening will be accomplished flugelhorn performer Doug Purcell, who will bring you the beautiful Adagio, from composer Joaquin Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranquez. Some will remember this centerpiece number from the popular movie, Brassed Off. And of course the entire program will feature the unique sound of an all-brass band, with seasoning provided by our talented percussionists. Don’t miss it!
