Attendance Pad Volunteer

Pull attendance sheets from the sign-in pads following the 10:45 a.m. worship service on Sunday. Restock them with pads, prayer cards, envelopes and pens. Place the attendance sheets back on the cart.

Qualifications:

-Commitment to fulfilling the vision and mission of NCUMC.

-Organizational skills; detail oriented; task oriented; enjoy working behind the scenes.

Commitment:

20 minutes per week.

Bargains and Blessings Store Volunteer

We are in need of Cashiers, Customer Assistance, Schedulers, and Drivers. If you have an interest in volunteering at the store we can find a place for you!

Clickers Team

Do you use a remote for your TV at home? Come help us at Worship Services click the slides for presentations and music. Clickers allow worshippers in the Sanctuary and online viewers to follow the service without a printed bulletin or worship aid. Using a remote control, similar to a TV remote control, the Clicker can advance/reverse the slide projection. With a minimal time commitment, being a Clicker is an opportunity to enhance worship in a significant way. We invite you to try this ministry; if you don’t like it, you’re not obligated to continue.Training will be provided.

Qualifications:

-Serving during Worship Service

-Operate the remote clicker used to advance the worship services projected on the screen.

Commitment:

Once a month and weekly positions available.

Fifteen minutes before service starts and during service. Every service requires a volunteer to control the audio/visual slides displayed on the screens during worship services.

Coffee Bar Greeter

Help at the coffee bar, make coffee and restock counter. Training is provided

Once a month and weekly positions available. There are two shifts available (7:00 – 9:00 shift or 9:00 – 11:00 shift).

Discover New Covenant Host/Hostess

Greet visitors and congregants who attend Discover New Covenant and ask them to sign-in. Share your story about New Covenant, what you’re involved in and why you love your church. Send thank you note cards to those who attend.

-Consistently interact with congregants and public with warmth and hospitality.

-A sense of radical hospitality and service to others.

Commitment:

Two hours a month on Saturday or Sunday around Worship times.

Family Ministry Helper

If you have experience working with children and/or youth, we would invite you to become a volunteer in our Family Ministry. Opportunities include our Orchard Kids program, Grounded Youth, Performing Arts, Sunday classes or Summer Camps. Training will be provided.

Qualifications:

-Commitment to fulfilling the vision and mission of NCUMC.

-Consistently interact with congregants and public with warmth and hospitality.

-A sense of radical hospitality and service to others.

-Physical ability to work with children and youth.

-Prior experience working with children and/or youth.

Commitment:

Weekends and or some evenings.

Media Volunteer

Assist technology staff with assignments for Worship Service or presentations. This is an exciting opportunity to use or learn technical skills by assisting in the A/V booth with lights, sound, cameras, or ProPresenter. No experience required! Will work in conjunction with staff, not unsupervised. Training will be provided.

Qualifications:

-Commitment to fulfilling the vision and mission of NCUMC.

-A sense of radical hospitality and service to others.

Commitment:

Can be on a service by service basis or entire Sunday morning/Saturday night.

Men’s Prayer Breakfast Volunteer

Help preparing and cleaning up for Tuesday’s breakfast. Various kitchen duties, washing dishes, clean up for Men’s Breakfast is needed. Training will be provided.

-Consistently interact with congregants and public with warmth and hospitality.

-A sense of radical hospitality and service to others.

Commitment:

Tuesday Mornings, two shifts available. (6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.)

Saturday Night Greeters

Meet congregants at the door from 4:30-5:00 pm as they enter the church. Welcome them in with a smile, handshake and a hello. The commitment would be about once a month.

Qualifications:

-Consistently interact with congregants and public with warmth and hospitality.

Commitment:

Stand at the entrances for about 30 minutes prior to service.

Sunday Usher

Hand out weekly Newsletter with warm greeting and welcome. Help congregants find seats, (especially those coming in late). Collect the Offering. Take attendance count in your section.

Qualifications:

-Consistently interact with congregants and public with warmth and hospitality.

-A sense of radical hospitality and service to others.

-Ability to move walkers and wheelchairs and ability to assist individuals from vehicle, if necessary.

Commitment:

Once a month 30 minutes prior to service and weekly positions available.

Ticket Leader

The Worship team needs help finding someone that would be willing to be the leader of the I Ticket sales. This would entail organizing the volunteers to work on Saturday evenings prior to service at 5pm.

Qualifications:

-Knowledge in using a laptop to enter customer data and run the credit cards using “swiper.”

-schedule the volunteers for shifts on Saturday prior to service.

Commitment:

You can make your own schedule of volunteers and organize as needed.

Ticket Volunteers

Training will be provided and will use churches equipment. The ticket volunteer will help congregants purchase I Tickets before and after Saturday night worship.

-Consistently interact with congregants and public with warmth and hospitality.

-A sense of radical hospitality and service to others.

Commitment:

30 minutes prior to and after Saturday worship. Flexible schedules available.


Welcome Center Volunteer

Greet visitors and congregants at the Welcome Center and answer questions about various church activities and resources. Training is provided.

Qualifications:

-Commitment to fulfilling the vision and mission of NCUMC.

-Consistently interact with congregants and public with warmth and hospitality.

-A sense of radical hospitality and service to others.

Commitment:

30 to 40 minutes prior to service or after on Saturday or Sunday.
