Disciple’s Path

A Disciple’s Path helps us look beyond membership, presenting an engaging approach to discipleship from a distinctly Wesleyan perspective. It helps you develop spiritual practices, utilize your unique gifts, and engage in ministry that brings transformation to your own life and to the lives of others and the world. The cost of the class is $23.00 and includes two books.

Come learn about John Wesley, the founder of the United Methodist movement and get a better understanding of our Wesleyan heritage.

Villages Bible Study for Men and Women

Villages Bible Study for Men and Women are open to anyone interested in studying God’s Word in an open and welcoming environment. Their mission is “to make disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ in our communities through caring, in-depth Bible study, available to all” regardless of their background, education, church involvement, Biblical knowledge, ethnicity or economic status. Classes are held at the Summerhill Campus every Monday from 7:00-9:00 p.m., September through April.

Community Bible Study

The Villages CBS classes are open to all men and women who are interested in learning about God’s Word and its personal application in today’s world. This group meets Monday from 3:00-5:00 p.m., September through April.

Check below for active classes in the DISCIPLE Bible Study!

DISCIPLE I — “Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study”

This is a general survey of the entire Bible and is a prerequisite to the other studies. The class will cover approximately 70 percent of the Bible. It is divided into two segments: the Old Testament and the New Testament

DISCIPLE II — “Into The Word Into The World”

This intensive study is divided into four segments. Each of the books of Genesis, Exodus, Luke, and Acts are studied for eight weeks

DISCIPLE III — “Remember Who You Are”

This study is divided into two segments. The first half concentrates on the books of the prophets and the second half on Paul’s letters

DISCIPLE IV — “Under The Tree of Life”

This study covers both Old and New Testament writings. In the Old Testament the books of Ruth, Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon, Lamentations, and Daniel are studied. In the New Testament the Gospel of John; First, Second, and Third John; James; Jude; and Revelation are covered.

Disciple I “Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study”

Becoming a Disciple Through Bible Study, is the foundation of the DISCIPLE BIBLE study program. It is a 24 week study spending the first 12 weeks studying the Old Testament and the second 12 weeks studying the New Testament.

Disciple IV — “Under The Tree of Life”

Under the Tree of Life is the final study in the four phase DISCIPLE program and is prepared for those who have completed Disciple I: Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study. The study concentrates on the writings of the Old Testament books not in the Torah or the Prophets, the Gospel of John and Revelation.
